1st Weight in Wednesday!

Today we had our first weight in wednesday.  It went good Ryan has lost 2 lbs.  and I have lost 3 pounds.  We were both pretty pleased with that becuase we weren't able to work out as much as we would have like from a pure SORENESS factor.  The biggest loser DVD's kicked our butts, making it next to impossible to move--let alone function!  :-) we are hoping in the next couple of weeks our bodies will adjust and can start working out a bit more.  see you next week!

It's about TIME!

This is going to be my/our  most "open" entry to date.  But I want YOU to keep us, most specifically me accountable.  The Houck's are going to shed some poundage!  IT will not be an easy or quick process --and we realize that.  A couple of ways you can help is:   ask us how its going, if you see either of us looking thinner-- PLEASE TELL US! those little words are so encouraging.  I know alot of people don't say "hey, you are looking great...are you losing weight?" because we don't want them to think "did I look like crud before?"  so we are giving you permission! :-)  We are going to have a segment on our blog as "weigh in wednesdays!"  so in saying so my goal (Ashley) is 75 pounds.  (YIKES!) and Ryan's goal is:  20 pounds

One of the most motivating factors is:  being able to keep up with Tucker, more energy, & just our overall HEALTH.  Please do not confuse this with a new years resolution, because it is not..

  A little while ago a friend of mine was complaining to me on a friday moring "Man, i have not worked out since wednesday night." to which i replied "i know what you mean, i haven't worked out since 1996!!" get my point? :-)  I have been looking for ways to get motivated and was presented with an opporunity.  I joined a volleyball league with a few ladies from church, which starts TONIGHT.  We have games once a week and that'll get me on the right track.  Since money is a little tight right now we cannot afford an expensive gym membership so I netflixed the biggest loser DVD's to sweat out too.  I figure this is awesome becuae if I don't like one, i can just send for another one!  So there it is.  Next Week hopefully we'll have lost something!!  :-)

Shout out to babywise!

To those of you who don't know what babywise is ---it is an AMAZING book.  It helps you get your child on a routine helping establish stability in their life.  I was a skeptic when i first heard about it (around the six week mark  when Tucker was making me go CRAZY with sleep deprivation)  i mean, how good can it be?  At 10 weeks he was sleeping through the night and now like clockwork he goes to bed @ 8:00p.m. and sleeps til 7:15ish/7:30ish.  EVERY SINGLE DAY!  It is sooo nice knowing you got about an hour and a half before he wakes up in the morning and two hours after he goes to bed.  One of our ways to "unwind" before we hit the hay is watching an NCIS episode that we've netflixed.  ITs been so nice to watch something START TO FINISH.  Everyday being a mom is becoming that much more fun/enetertaining.   I told Ryan, I was born to do this! :-)  Anyways, just a little note to me to you.  I so am not worthy, but God is so good!
